Ohanaeze Ndigbo President Tells Buhari What Igbos Want



As Nigerians await the handing over ceremony of President Goodluck Jonathan to the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on May 29, the south-west zone president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has revealed what Igbos want from Buhari.

Speaking in an interview with a Daily Sun correspondent on Wednesday, Prince Nathaniel Uzomah, who also spoke on other national issues including the defeat of President Jonathan, revealed that the Igbos want the incoming Buhari administration to implement the 2014 National Conference report.

The south-west zone president explained that the Igbos as a people are not asking for gold or silver from the president-elect, adding that the Igbos are also not making any special demands or seeking for preferential treatment.

According to him, what the Igbos want from Buhari is what all well-meaning Nigerians also want, which the implementation of the 2014 National Conference report.

Uzomah advised the Igbos to be united and prepare to support the incoming administration. He said Igbos were not renowned for sabotaging, so whether they are in the opposition or not, they will try to contribute their own quota to the success of Buhari’s administration.

Speaking on the alleged crisis at the national level of Ohanaeze, Uzomah said there is no atom of crisis at the national level, adding that Chief Gary Enwo -Igariwey is the president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.
