DSS Repotedly Arrests Former Army Chief, Ihejirika

Unconfirmed reports circulating the media space allege that Azubuike Ihejirika, a former army boss has been arrested by the men of the secret service.

Developing reports have it that the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Major-General Azubuike Ihejirika (Rtd). from Abia State, South-eastern part of Nigeria has been arrested by the men of the Department of State Security (DSS).

The arrest was reportedly effected yesterday night, 21st of June, 2016 in Maitama, Abuja where he resides. Initial assumptions have it that his arrest may not be unconnected to the $2.1 arms deal fraud that has led to the trial of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

It should be recalled that an Australian Negotiator, Dr Stephen Davis insisted that former governor of Borno State, Modu Sheriff and former Chief of Army Staff, General Onyeabo Azubuike Ihejirika are Boko Haram sponsors but Ihejirika swiftly debunked the report and no investigation followed.

Similarly, Ihejirika has also been accused of human right abuses by Amnesty International as Chief of Army Staff during the fight against the Boko Haram sect in the north-eastern part of Nigeria.
