The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has instructed the
Ministry of Education to include two Islamic Studies books written by
the late Justice Muhammad Bashir Sambo in the secondary school
curriculum for all Federal Government Colleges.
He gave this order in Kaduna, at the launching of the reviewed editions of the books, which were originally published in 1974.
President Buhari who was represented by the Kaduna State Governor,
Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, noted that books of this kind have become
necessary in the face of declining moral and religious values in the
country.
Mallam Mukhtar Lere reviewed Islamic Studies for Secondary Schools
to conform with the current 6-3-3-4 educational system in the country.
President Buhari however urged the Education Ministry peruse the books with a view to adopting them in all government colleges.
