Good News! Cross River to start exporting Bananas



In bid to diversify the economy, Ben Ayade, Governor of the Cross River State has stated that the state would soon start exporting banana.

According to Punch, Mexican investors have concluded all arrangements with The Foreign Direct Investment of Cross River to start the exportation of banana from the state.
 
In a statement released by the Christian Ita, Chief Press Secretary, Ayande said that Cross River has the largest and best soil for the cultivation of Banana. The state has issued 2000 hectares of land for Banana cultivation.
 
This banana farm you are bringing is a thing we are in a hurry to get started. It is a handshake of deep prosperity. While naira is what is required to cultivate banana, it is sold in dollars.
This partnership will diversify and reconstruct the economy of Cross River State. The state has the largest and best soil among the few states in Nigeria that grow banana,” the statement read.
